All the platitudes are nice and all, but everyone knows why Miles flew around the country to talk to Randle and Shep lst year.
Everyone knew those boys were leaving because of the offense. Randle still makes that very clear (as does Toliver). Miles convincing Shep to come back to better his draft position was clearly BS on Miles' part. He had no intention of increasing Shep's touches, and was only intending to save face. Just as he had no intention of leaving for Arkansas.
Notice how he aint flying anywhere to stop anyone this year. Nobodys buying the BS anymore. The floodgates are open. And what Miles feared would happen last year (his philosophy would be questioned) is exactly what everyone is talking about this year, even in the Detiller interview.
So just accept it for what it is. Miles took over in late '08, put JJ in as QB, and shut the offense down. The defense and ST are now expected to win him ballgames. It aint changing folks.

one can be critical of Les Miles' gameday management, his late game playcalling at times and the Tigers inability to develop a strong passing game

There needs to be a change in this offense from a coaching standpoint and from a scheme standpoint.
