What has Rivers done besides be the backup to LSu QB that makes you think he can be the starting QB?

I haven't seen enough of Rivers to have any opinion on him. Mett isn't bad if he has lots of time, and wide open receivers, on short routes.
Based on his stats, there is no reason to think another QB couldn't take his spot, but Miles is slow to shift his QB's, unless the shift will produce and quick and obvious decrease in performance.

Mett did leave a little kink in his armour, by failing to perform on the crucial 2 yard conversion, which is causing Les some grief. If he can only pass in the pocket and brings nothing else to win a game, then he can't fail on easy but crucial situations. The back-ups probably see a chance to move on the position,probably thinking they could have brought as much to the game or more. So Mett has got to bring it all. Its gonna be interesting .

The failure to go 2 yards in 2 plays is a head-shaker for sure, especially when the game was on the line.
Miles is aquiring a list of game situations in which he seemed to have ALL THE WRONG MOVES, that cost him a game.
The guy is going to have to figure this out.

Unless Mett gets hurt, the only passes Rivers will throw next season will be in garbage time or practice
