Unless I misunderstood something when viewing TM7's recent ESPN TV interview, didn't he admit to smoking pot during preparation for last years NC game? Which leads one to logically think Jordan Jefferson was also smoking and maybe a few other players.

So my question is this, since TM7 has admitted smoking pot to deal with the stress, why didn't a drug test disqualify him for the NC game? Does anyone know if drug tests are administered during preparation for the NC game? Miles is known for zero tolerance when it comes to breaking of team rules.

I'm left with thinking we have a drug problem on our football team. To play at the highest level to win it all, I don't think you can be abusing anything that has a negative affect on your body. I mean, so much goes into what players eat and drink to help them perform. How they can inject a drug that is harmful to their performance is mind boggling.

We have the talent, coaching staff and facilities to compete with any team in the country to win more NC's. Looking at how close we always play Bama, then how flat we were in last years NC game leads me to think drugs were involved in our play last year.

If this is true it needs to be cleaned up. I'm led to believe all is in place to police this problem, but now I'm not so sure. Can anyone shed any responsible light to this issue?

Suspending the biggest impact player on defense is an attempt of cleaning it up

Every school in America has a drug problem on its football team. The ones that aren't regularly suspending kids are the ones that aren't looking very hard. 18-22 year olds in America use drugs in prodigious amounts. For confirmation of that, read a few OT threads. It's a regular topic over there.

If you want to enjoy college football, do yourself a favor and try not to learn much about what goes on behind the scenes.

If you smoke a joint right before a game yes it well effect your performance. Do it the night before i dont think so. Getting drunk the night before would be worse for you.

I don't think everyone is affected the same way. I have lived how food can affect how you perform athletically. I don't think ingesting any type of pleasure drug the days leading up to physical competition helps ones performance. It's all chemical and everyones chemical make up is different. I know I'm taking care of my self the weeks before running a marathon. I know I need every ounce of energy to not only train but to finish 26 miles and run a good solid pace.

That's great, and if every athlete had that attitude they'd all be better off. Unfortunately, many don't have that level of maturity. It's nothing new, most of us who went to LSU or any other college have stories about athletes partying before games. All I'm saying is LSU isn't unique, and it's a battle just to keep it somewhat under control. Athletes aren't choirboys for the most part. The kid who is super talented, and is also squared away mentally and emotionally, is a rare bird indeed. You can't stock your whole team with them.
