How many scholies will we have available now with all of the juniors leaving?

Maybe a few more spots will be open. Also expect a few players to transfer from being down on the depth chart

Just part of the attrition every year that we need to get to 85.
Im sure the coaches had a good idea on the players leaving and how they will make numbers work.

No additional schollies.......still can only sign 25. I think there is a little fudge room with putting scholarships back to last year for a couple new guys who will enroll in January. I assume we will have a full compliment of scholarship players, and if not Miles will probably toss a couple schollies to squad guys who've been around awhile.

You would have to have been under the 85 limit LY, and (I think) not have had more than 25 new enrollees last year as well.
Looking at the commitments from last year, only 20 made it to campus.
A quick rough count says we had 82 on scholarship last fall.
3 can count back if my numbers are correct.
So: Sign 28, 3 count back: Stokes, Fehoko and Rettig and the other 25 show up in the fall.
However, for this to work, we would need 8 or so more guys to leave.

So does Pocic, but we are limited to the # below 85 in the fall. My best guess is we had 82 on scholarship in the fall so a maximum of only 3 can count back.
ETA: I meant that the other 25 will count towards next fall's enrollees.

Yeah. I expect a few to leave.
If my 82 # is correct, and we are losing 20 Seniors and Early Entrees, then our current number we can sign is 23.
I expect 4-5 to hit the road which will allow us to sign 28, with 3 of those counting back to 2012.

wrt the 85 for this year, you can substitute (i.e. effectively reduce the roster count) ships for players that graduate by the fall. The 85 for the current year will not be the limiting factor for counting back EEs. In fact the EEs who aren't counted back must fit under the 85 too if they are going on scholarship.
