Patterson tight end Deondre Skinner has decommitted from Arkansas.

I know he holds an LSU offer, but what do you guys think? Is he a take to close out this class? I know we are looking to load up on TEs.

I think he has slid down our board due to lack of inline blocking ability.

Cethan Carter may get a late offer, like the last week before signing day. He would be the TE to add, IMO.

I think there is a very good chance he ends up here if we cant close with the other players on the board like Willis, Foster, and RN.

And since I dont think we will get a single one of those, I think Skinner is more likely to get one of those slots.

This is also the 3rd LA recruit that is no longer going to Arky. They had 3 commits, now they have none.

I noticed that. Bilema must not want that LA pipeline.

Yeah, he cut loose two of them. The RB from Denham and the WR from Amite.

There is a lot of talent coming out of Tangipahoa parish every year, not sure pissing off a coach in that area is a smart thing to do.

Denham doesn't produce as much talent, but they've got some young guys that may be recruited, an OL for sure I think.

And Patterson is Patterson, they've always got D1 guys all over the field, including two young WRs.

I just don't understand wtf they're doing. Its very frustrating because Skinner was a diehard Hog and they've just been blowing him off practically begging for him to decommit. Definitely a different approach than when Petrino honored all of the previous staff's commitments in out last hire.

Absolutely. I'm from St. Tammany, so I've faced several of these teams when I was in HS.

Yeah.. schools like Amite, Kentwood, Sumner, and Independence are usually littered with talent. You don't want to ruin your ties to that area like that.

It's weird to me too. Patterson has a very pro-Arky guy on their staff, so it's conceivable to think that they could be in on any kids that are coming out of there and be the school of choice if LSU doesn't offer.

And the RB from Denham Springs had a big Arky connection too if I'm not mistaken.

While you are here ... Are yall replacing these guys with superstars or something? Haven't kept up with yall recruiting but causing problems in Louisiana seems very dumb at this point considering proximity and how many D-1 players La produces every year.

Surprised to see this. I thought Skinner could be a lot like Lance Kendricks was at Wisconsin, a big TE with WR athleticism

I think the dropped Blanchard because of the injuries. So far they seem very risk adverse whereas Petrino made a living off taking guys that were under the radar due to injuries. Knile Davis is the perfect example here.

They are going after Alex Collins, Altee Tenpenny, Jordan Wilkins and Terrell Newby hard. Although, I think Newby isn't going to happen. According to our recruiting guys on 247 they will be fine with just one RB in this class. I imagine their order of preference is as listed above. Surprisingly they've made some pretty good ground up on Collins to where I've seen some people say we are already in his top 2. Going to be next impossible to get him out of Florida imo though. I look for us to eventually land Wilkins after his visit. He was extremely high on us before Petrino was fired so it seems like a good fit.

With Skinner, I am guessing they just see something they don't like. Our new OC called him once like 2 weeks ago and said he liked his film and would follow-up with him. Nothing since. In that time frame they've started recruiting Brandon Vandenburg who is coming in on an OV soon. I'm guessing they feel really good about him. He's a juco guy however but they've also started recruiting Travis Johnson heavily in the last week or so.

Yet again, it's another situation here according to one of our 247 guys that they will also be content with just one TE, Hunter Henry, if they can't find someone that fits their system.

I think it's a terrible idea to drop all of these kids and is going to hurt us bigtime in the state the next couple of year but it's their job on the line I guess.

I'm starting to think Bielema is a worse and worse hire. Burning bridges where you should be getting a few kids from every year is not the way to start. Coaches are going to start pushing any kid away from Arkansas in LA.

Agreed, I thought they would have loved him. Skinner and Hunter Henry looked to be a great pair of TE's in this class and definitely a building block for their offense going forward.

If the new staff doesn't want the guy, they shouldn't be required to honor his commitment. Bielema's success at Arky isn't going to be based on a Louisiana recruiting pipeline.
