Another mediocre signing combined with AJ Piersynzki (sp?). Anyone know what the deal with Napoli's contract with BOS as to why it sin't signed yet officially?

His hip and Boston wants assurance they will not be on the hook if he can't play X amount of games

While Pierzynski doesn't have the same type of power, he should still provide the same type of run production for a significant amount less money and years.

With DH'ing, the Rangers should be able to squeeze 400 at bats out of Berkman. He's certainly no Hamilton but it helps counteract the loss in production(barring health). And again, at a significant discount in rate.

Hardly earth shattering moves, but they are solid signings. If these moves don't work out, so be it... there's little risk and it doesn't cripple us to make bigger moves now or in the future.

Maybe he'll end up back in Texas at a drastically reduced rate.

I'd like to have him just for playing within the division. He's Angels kryptonite.
