I thought the deadline was something like January 10th so must be about clearing waivers. But unless Demps has his eye on someone else the 10 day contracts become available once the January 10th deadline passes.

Per the team now:
"The New Orleans Hornets announced today that the team has waived forward Dominic McGuire.
The Hornets signed Dominic McGuire on December 16, 2012 as a free agent. Since his signing, McGuire has appeared in nine games and has averaged 2.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 16.0 minutes per game.
McGuire (6-9, 220) holds career averages of 2.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists in 340 games (83 starts).
The Hornets roster now stands at 13."
