Never had heard of it and I thought i knew every rule. Especially the scoring ones. I wonder how they came up with that?

I guess it's essentially like why get something good for doing something bad? You got your kick (worth 1 point) blocked, the other team recovers it and you tackle them in the end zone. So you don't give them extra credit.

blocked PATs returned all the way by the other team is worth 2 pts... same on 2 pt conversions if it's picked or fumbled and brought back the other way... it's 2 pts for the defense
