The one difference that may allow this style to stick around for a long time is defenses are no longer allowed to hit anyone hard. There is no price to pay for the QB dropping back 50 times a game or WRs running routes over the middle. 15 yard flag every time you think about hitting them hard.

the style will stick around for a long time for sure, but it won't be as successful. It may become the default offense but defenses will get better at defending it. And then someone will return to some other offensive style (power I) and have success and suddenly that will be the rage.
