I'm gonna go to the range. The range is bare, BYOeverything.
i was looking at target stands online and theyre all less than 2 feet high. I want to shoot at something chest high.
just make my own? any recommendations from what yall have done/used?

You can make one really quickly and easily out of 2x4s and plywood, but it will be temporary as you'll shoot it to bits.

Here's a diagram of how I remember my Dad use to make the targets we'd use at the range.

I made one with PVC. Make a retangle with PVC and in the center put two 'T' joints coming up. Add a little extra pvc sticking up and then you can make a target holder with 1x1's and cardboard or plastic that you can just slide in the PVC pipes.
I did a quick search and what I have is pretty similar to this: LINK

I made a stand and attach old campaign signs, the kind that stick up in the ground to it. After the campaigns are over just go around and pick some up, especially the losers signs, they rarely go around and pick them up.

My reccomendation pick up a bunch of political signs after the next election. I keep 50 or so at the house for shooting targets they work great. Round Hay bales work even better, but hard to make moblie to the range.
