I know I remember reading somewhere that Idaho was content playing a year Independent. Their current schedule for 2013 is all over the case.

New Mexico State is the other school still left alone, and both they and Idaho are currently scheduled to play twice next year.

Has anyone heard more about what the plans for these teams are for 2013 and beyond?

They need to be relegated down to FCS. Both schools are TERRIBLE at football.

Seems to me like they might drop to the fcs... just nowhere left for them to go. Unless the big east is that desperate.

Eta: or remain indy... thats cool too.

I know Idaho announced a few months ago they are moving to the Big Sky for all sports except football (which makes perfect sense, geographically). I just don't know what some of these schools are clinging to in terms of FBS.

Idaho and NMSU can't possibly make ANY money off of football. Though I hear Moscow, Idaho, is nice in the winter.

A random thought that just popped into my head:

Now that Boise is sticking with the MWC, do they consider one of these schools just as a means to get to 12 and have a championship?

They are going after SMU & Houston, with San Diego State getting them to 14.

meh. They should ignore SDSU and try to get Tulane so they can try and lure the occasional Louisiana recruit.
