The Chicken Bowl seems to get a bad rep amongst the top tier fanbases, which is quite unfortunate. The past month I have read a ton of bickering about how crummy of a bowl game this is for a top ten, two loss SEC team. Instead of bitching I would like to open a discussion on ways the Chicken Bowl committee could improve the image of the bowl and make it a more desirable location. (Before all the complicated chaos that is about to unfold with the new playoff system about to take place)

My suggestions are as follows:
1. Millions of Peaches, Peaches for me. Millions of Peaches, Peaches for Free. Put the Peach back into the name, whether it is the Chik-Fil-A Peach Bowl or the Peach Bowl presented by Chik-Fil-A. The Peach Bowl has history dating back to the 60's. Also the Peach is a symbol of identity for the state.

2. Change the month the bowl is played in. I am sure that this is easier said than done with all the wonderful rules and regulations within the NCAA rules and television contracts. However, if this game were played in Jan, it would immediately gain a better reputation and become a more desirable bowl destination.

3. Atlanta has recently approved to build a new stadium to replace the GA Dome. It has probably already been determined to relocate this Chicken Bowl to the new stadium, but anything is better than the Big Top.

Any other thoughts to improve the game's reputation?

Folks like you could learn to call it by it's corporate name.
Chicken bowl is rather kindergarten humor and does nothing promote the bowl itself.

First, you can stop calling it the chicken bowl.

Second, the only reason it has a bad reputation is because of the name.

Imagine if the Cotton Bowl was called the Canes chicken fingers bowl. Or the Mission Burrito Bowl...

So you come here with recomendations on how to improve a bowl's image, yet you repeatedly call it by something other than the bowl's real name?

It is not "The Chicken Bowl"

It is "The Chik-Fil-A Bowl"

Start there.

Lets start by calling it the Peach Bowl again.

Also, it should be noted that it is the NINTH oldest bowl, which should have something to do with prestige. It is older than the Fiesta bowl.

Only older bowl games:
Rose
Sugar
Cotton
Orange
Sun
Gator
Tangerine/Citrus
Liberty

I can't rank it with the Cap 1/Outback/Cotton because it has taking lower ranked teams in the past. In 2000 LSU was 7-4 and played GT in the Peach Bowl. Now we're 10-2 and in that same bowl. Our current 10-2 team is light years ahead of where we were back then, so why the same bowl? I don't remember the Cotton Bowl taking a 7-5ish type team in recent memory
