Natchitoches produced the 1992 NL Rookie of the Year, Pat Listach. He was born in Natchitoches in 1967 and, according to Baseball Almanac, attended Natchitoches Central High School followed by McLellan Junior College and Arizona State University.

Houma had one football player in the 90s that was a beast. Claude Johnson. Was recruited to play RB for Florida State. Broke his leg in the last game of the season and ended up playing at like mississippi valley or something like that. Last great prospect from the area I can even think of.
