TCU is a very average football team. Michigan St., although wholly disappointing, can easily win.

TCU is not an average team. If Boykin had been the starter from the beginning or if Pachall hadn't been a drunk and gotten kicked off the team, they definitely wouldn't have lost to Iowa State (overtime with a freshman QB who only practiced with the first team for 2 days since Pachall got a DUI on Wednesday night), likely beat TTech (3OT game still just two weeks after Boykin was named starter), and I would have to think that OK State would've been competitive, and close losses to KState and OU may have gone differently. Just changing the two losses that fairly obviously would've gone differently if not for the Pachall situation would mean a 9-3 season with losses only to Ok State, OU, and KState.

Average teams rarely beat UT in Austin on Thanksgiving, and they never come one drive away from beating Oklahoma during a top 10-caliber season when OU is playing for the conference title in the last game of the season.

TCU is inconsistent because of youth at QB and being the second youngest team in FBS across the 2-deep. They aren't an average team.

The very fact that they are only playing in Austin on Thanksgiving (TCU this year, Texas Tech next year) automatically DEFINES you as an average team. They will NEVER voluntarily play a team they know is good on Thanksgiving.
