Help: Teaching GF how to shoot. (also, central AL range question)

First, something i expect yall can help me with. I will be taking my SO to the range this or next weekend. She has only fired pistols before. I want her to shoot all of the guns.
I'm nervous about her shooting the rifle (30-06). She is a small girl (5'3 about 110 - no pics). How do I make sure she has it shouldered properly? I know how to explain to keep her eye a safe distance from the scope. I'm going to go through all the basic gun safety measures with her. Anything else I need to make sure I do/tell her. While I know how to shoot, I've never taught anyone else before. Don't wanna mess it up (or have my rifle fly out of her hands).
Women shooting guns
Something I'm doubtful I will get help on. I'm in montgomery. I can shoot where I hunt (an hour away) or at the Tuskegee forest (an hour away). Anyone know of other ranges/clubs in my area? I see the Central Alabama Gun Club is close, but they have a waiting list and you have to be in the NRA (F that. I'd join the GOA if need be. not a fan of the NRA though).
Thanks, guys!

Start with a .22 or even BB gun if you have one

Mine couldnt hit a can at 25 yards with a 20ga... But could drill it with a dam 22!

my 10/22 is at my dad's currently. don't have a bb gun.
I will be bringing
.22 pistol
9mm pistol
20ga pump
30-30 lever (no scope)
30-06 bolt (scoped)
should i just let her shoot the pistols? I REALLY want her to shoot the others. especially the shotgun

At the range let her practice with a 22LR. Give her time and she will step up.
My GF is shooting my 270 WTBY magnum this year for deer. She shot at a pig and said she didnt notice the recoil at all. She shot it at the range and said it hurt too much..
Will be getting her a 7mm-08 before next hunting season.
ETA since you dont have a 22 then you may want to wait. You could actually maker her start flinching bad.

so consensus is wait and let her shoot the .22 rifle first.
shotgun would be too much, as well i guess
damn. i was really looking forward to it.

I would prolly let her shoot the shotgun. Thats the first gun my GF shot. She is about the same size as yours.

If you "really" want her to shoot it and she doesn't there are going to be problems. Let her make the decision to shoot or not to shoot. Start with something small like the .22 or the 20ga. The 30-30 should be ok as well. I'd hold off on the 30-06 for a while yet.

im not gonna pressure her or get upset if she declines to shoot. i would just like her to.
i guess i'll just wait until next w/e to go and get the 10/22 sometime before then.
thanks for the help.

Start with a 22 if you can.
1. Make sure it's against her shoulder
2. Make sure she is leaning into and pushing hard against the stock of the gun
3. Put a washer on the gun barrel and make her squeez the trigger so the washer does not fall off when she is dry firing it.
4. Slowly squeez the trigger on exhale.

Is the .30-06 naked without the scope or do you have backup iron sights? If she is going to use the scope, just show her by shooting it first and demonstrating the recoil and rear travel of the weapon.
The 20 gauge and 30-30 will be pretty comparable, recoil-wise, but neither are gentle from a female perspective. Go ahead and have her shoot those prior to the aught six, but after the handguns.
As far as stock to shoulder, cheek to stock - you should probably look up some youtube vids yourself on these, to make sure you're not starting her out with bad habits. Gals tend to have a smaller shoulder pocket for the rifle - just work with her and the cleared weapon until she's comfortable with shoulder placement, cheek to stock, sighting, trigger pull (and help her with the differences between a shotgun trigger and a rifle trigger - slap versus squeeze).

GL,
1+. Obviously, you enjoy shooting guns and that's good. But, we don't know yet if she enjoys shooting guns. Approach this w/ BABY steps, just like you would a kid. Start w/ something she can shoot pretty good at the beginning w/o fear of recoil or muzzle blast. Be sure you do everything you can for her to ENJOY the event. Shoot at targets other than just paper. Paint ball, animal crackers, water balloons, etc are good interactive targets. Use plugs AND muffs. When you get above 22 LR's, be sure you have a good recoil pad and possibly a small sandbag between the shoulder and the butt of the gun. The main thing is for her to enjoy it she doesn't have a sense of obligation to go w/ you. If she doesn't enjoy it, it will prolly be her last shoot. Think of this shooting trip for her akin to a shopping trip you go on w/ her.

I'm sure shed be fine with the 20ga and some light trap loads.
The first real gun I ever shot was a crack barrel 20 gauge with high brass 6 shot at about 4 years old. Put me on my arse
