Respecting Saban doesn't necessarily make him desirable for every high profile recruit.
I know a lot of coaches, and off the record, they wouldn't give Miles the same level of respect as Saban when it comes to X's and O's, or in attention to detail, either. They are completely different in style.
But, look at their personal lives and how they deal with family. I don't really want to get into details, but there's not an immediate family member of Saban's without issues. Everything comes at a price, and I could repeat many stories told to me from someone who still talks to Saban weekly to make my point, but I won't.
My point is that when all is said and done, Miles may get the respect that really counts. That's not easy to see in the heat of the moment, and I've come to appreciate Miles more everyday.
And back to the original point of this thread, I'm glad to see this from Crutchfield. I know he's a Sabanite, and probably has great reasons to feel that way. But, I'm not aware of any anti-LSU happenings, unless it goes back to his days at NE, and feeling slighted as a player.
I can tell you this. My brother played for McNeese at this time, and Crutchfield was a man amongst boys out there.
Literally.
