The NFL would prefer to turn a blind eye on a young Black QB that meets their desire to promote and appear diverse and tolerant.

Cam made contact with an official during an argument. That is an automatic ejection (and most likely a suspension) in nearly any other professional sport.

Belichick grabbed an official in a non-hostile manner to get an explanation for a call and was fine. Newton basically assaulted an official and gets nothing - that's bullshite.

I don't give two shits about whether they fine him or not, but they flagged him in game and I'm ok with that. No need to be pussies about it.

You're right, that is a step in the right direction...

Good God, do Auburn fan's really see nothing wrong with Cam and his attitude?

LSU fans make fun of how stupid JaMarcus Russell is even though he was real good for us

It was absolutely stupid to jump up and get in the official's face. I've also said he needs to quit the sulking shite he does.

But to say he assaulted an official is ridiculous.

eta - And the first down stuff makes me want to stab him with a dull knife. But that goes for all the players who do that. Just a pet peeve of mine.

I said he basically assaulted an official - to use exaggeration as a way to emphasis that what he did was out of line. It wasn't meant as a literal translation to the legal interpretation.

well, technically he did make contact, in an attempt to intimidate, with an object that was not part of his body.

I don't really care if he gets fined either, the fact that he has shown all of the world how big of a baby he is, is enough for me. He also got flagged so whatever.

I look forward to the Saints defense pounding him and seeing if he throws another fit.

If you watch SoundFX from week 16, Cam says somethings not needed for TV to the ref. It is all beeped out and he definitely kicks the OAK player. He quickly apologizes to the ref on the field after the game and then again multiple times in the post game press conference. I do not like Newton mainly because he plays for the Panthers, but he handled the situation correctly afterwards. He just needs to mature a lot as a person and player to know that you dont do either of the things he did in that 30 second span.

This is exactly CORRECT! FACT: The media will never talk "negative" regarding Vick, RG3 or odumass for that matter, no matter how bad they play on or off the field.

When I saw you throw vicks name in there, I thought you were being sarcastic, but they dont talk bad about RG3 so I don't get it....

Were you around when vick was ran through the mud for a year?

for dog fighting.....

But yet, they promote a guy like ray lewis out the wazoo and that man is oj innocent of stabbing a guy to death. Miraculously the white suit presumed to be stained with blood was never seen again.

It really doesnt make any sense

Why are we not talking about the player who slammed his knee on the ground after Cam was already down?

The hatred for Cam is ridiculous, and this is coming from a lifelong Saints fan.

Lol, is that what you see? Who grabs someones knee and tries to slam it on the ground... I think cam was just pulling back to kick him because he was mad that he was holding onto his legs after he was down. That's why he was bitching at the ref.

ETA: I just watched it again and if you are right and he kicks him because the oakland player slammed his knee down, then Cam newton has the fastest reaction time of human beings. He was trying to jerk his leg free as the other player got up holding his leg.

You are basing this off one gif of one play in a game. You have a Raiders player who has openly admitted to the Raiders trying to knock Cam out of the game after Carson got hurt. A game with 6 personal foul flags and a unsportsmanlike flag. Pretty safe to assume this game had gotten way out of control by both teams. Who am I kidding though, why would we need to discuss that?
