New to all of this, but as I understand it, far less coins were minted in CC, so they are much more rare, hence higher in value.

The CC mint was only open for 23 years. When the silver mines around Carson City were depleted, the mint closed.

The New Orleans mint operated for about 46 years, both before and after the Civil War after taking a break for the war and reconstruction.
