If LSU had a real AD we wouldn't even begin to discuss this stuff.
He allowed the league to get away with the shitty 2013 scheduling as well as let them protect others teams in bowls this year which left LSU in a lesser bowl.

If you look at how the chips fell into play this year, you'll see that it was just an exceptional year as far as bowl selection goes.
SEC champ goes to the MNC.
SEC Runner-Up surpassed by an 11-1 team (whose only loss was to them, but played a much more difficult schedule) and gets the Capital One Bowl
#3 team (UF) gets the Sugar Bowl
#4 team should have been us, but the Cotton Bowl decided they would rather take an in-state team with a Heisman trophy winning QB (can you blame them?)
#5 team should have been us in that case, but the Outback Bowl hasn't taken a team from the West since 1996.
So we fell to #6.
