I honestly didn't think anyone could even dispute this. But apparently some do. Maybe I'm too much of a jack white fanboy,idk. Because I have a ton of respect for Beck's work honestly
I think of JW as an artistic savant almost. Like a modern day Beethoven. Beck.. a really talented artist. Not a generational talent I guess

Both are great at what they do. They have very little in common. If you like guitar heroes, you'll prefer White. If you like more experimnetal artists, you'll prefer Beck. I like em both a lot.

Maybe I should reframe the question. The other thread suggested Beck is the biggest talent of the last 20 yrs

If forced to choose, Beck. He's more dynamic. I like Jack White, but at the end of the day, he's just a really good guitarist. That doesn't make you special.

He's more than just an extremely talented guitarist, and although I've always been a big Beck fan, when I compare the 2 artists' complete bodies of work I prefer Jack White.

Lolololol wut? Dude has played the drums for dead weather. And is very damn good at it.
He's also a good pianist.
He also rose Loretta Lynn from the dead, along with Wanda Jackson.
He's made other musically dead people come back and make some very great songs too.
He's considered by many to be a top 100 guitarist of all time. And he's one of, if not the, best lyrical geniuses of this generation. He has an insane amount of knowledge about his predecessors in the blues.
I love me some beck, but as someone else pointed out, there's a reason Beck is now on Jack White's label.
