But holy shite, that was AWFUL! And I mean AWFUL. I'm not talking about the acting, or the film itself, which was well made. The music was even pretty good. I'm talking about the story.

kindof agree. after a while, all the sad characters singing about regret became really draining. still got goosebumps often though, the songs were really strong.

hell, i even thought crowe was good, though i can see where people would think he sucked. he's the only person where they had to use cutaways since he coudlnt extend his notes very long.

i enjoyed the movie, but started checking out in the last third. i really liked how it was filmed, lost of close ups, but my set designer gf hated it for that reason.

I enjoyed it. It was my favorite movie of the year by far. It is apparent that the religious themes in a musical are much more apparent than in a non-musical. Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe were great. Eddie Redmayne was good. Anne Hathaway and Sam Barks were fabulous. Amanda Seyfried was good also. Sam Barks is gorgeous just saying.

Yeah, all the sadness is tiring, but you really do have to expect that going in. The title says it all.
