I get he´s upset, I´m also not sure he wasn´t the one who committed the foul there prior to the clear hitting his head.
That´s a textbook straight red, in spite of him being in the right.

He cleared the first challenge on his left, not cleanly, and battled to recuperate the ball and shoot, with another who had his backside over the ball, they interwined and both went down.
Not clear in my book.

Maybe the referee had a bad view of it.
