Cheaper restaurant suggestions in French Quarter?

It's better to get out of the fQ if you want cheap.

What FunBunch said (esp. Coop's). Add to the list: Killer PoBoys (located in the rear of the Erin Rose bar on Conti); The Gumbo Shop on St. Peter; and The Grapevine on Orleans. Technically outside the FQ, but within easy walking distance: Domenica (in the Waldorf hotel) has a daily happy hour where pizzas and wine are all 1/2 price (unbelievable food and value). Also, head to Frenchman and Three Muses has great food at very reasonable prices.

Central grocery muffuletta. You can eat 2 meals on a whole one.

Redfish Grill on Bourbon near Canal. Used to eat there 2-3 times a week for lunch. Only thing I miss about working down there.
