I figured that most of those questions are answered in the book, but I guess when you turn a short book into 3 movies, you are going to leave a lot of unanswered questions in the initial phases - thus you are left with viewers like myself scratching their heads. However, having seen Jackson's work in the LOTR trilogy, he's earned the benefit of the doubt.

The 3 movies is bad crowd needs to critique that after all 3 are made.
