re: Who else is wearing their LSU gear to the ULL game on Saturday?

LSUGrad9295, you have to be talking about me and my friends. Guys, me and three of mine friends go to this game every year just to go watch a game and have a good time. My brother and his friend stated going around 2006. Every year we wear LSU gear and hang out with both teams in the quarter cheering as we walk down the street for whichever team we picked in a bowl pick'em contest we do. The fans from the schools have a great time hanging out with us , they even bought a few rounds of drinks and vice verse. I was not really aware of the hatred for LSU fans from the ULL community until last year. We were checking into the hotel and some woman starts telling me " you have the wrong colors on " I just laughed it off. I'm wearing an LSU sweatshirt, I don't have any other sweatshirts. The game is usually at night , so it gets chilly before the game. So while in the quarter we tried to be friendly with the ULL crowd but they weren't having it. We drink all day have fun and head to the dome, you could feel the tension around us as we are going to our seats which are located in the 300 section on ULL ' side,one row below the suites. At some point 5-7 minutes after we sit down they start trash talking and my brother starts trash talking. Someone goes to get a State Trooper, he comes up there as nice as he could be asking us to stop cussing and so forth. The main reason there was cussing was because the ULL fans are calling my brother names and standing up wanting to start shite. So my brother goes to sit somewhere else which we didn't know at the time , he said he was going to the bathroom. I'm sitting there never saying a word to anyone of these people , some guy in his 50's or 60's hangs out the suite and starts bashing me about my LSU sweatshirt and where did you get it? So I told him I got it out if his closet . I wish I had a picture of his face, this guy wanted to kill me for saying that. His face was red and he was acting like he was going to jump down and kick my arse. We all just had enough of the issues and left the game in 3rd quarter. It was not all of the ULL fans, but it was the worst N.O. Bowl trip we have made and it ruined a good time. We were hoping ULL would not make it this year for these reasons, but they did. We learned a lesson and maybe it's not right, but we are not wearing LSU gear this year. It's just not worth it. We are in our late 30's and early 40's too old for BS like that. We decided we will wear Saints gear instead. We look forward to this game every year to go have a good time. We get tickets for no more than $10 bucks and most of the time free or $5 . It's not a big fancy bowl or anything special but we have a great time usually and that is all that matters.
