Latest purchase, from this past weekend's gun show in Kennebrah.

Was worried there may be some issues, but when I shot it Sunday, had second bullet fail to fire, not sure why, but after that smooth sailing.

I didn't touch the conversion bolt beforehand as far as cleaning, lubing, etc. I read a bunch of things saying to do all kinds of things to it first, but I guess I wanted to see how it would do right out of the box.

Only put about 50 rounds through, but will be doing many more soon.

Next up: sighting in and tightening groups.

Review: 4.5/5

Varies, around $180, but I got mine for a lot less than that.

I have the CMMG conversion too. It's really surprising how smooth the operation is.

Good luck sighting it in though. The twist rate is not optimal for 22lr and accuracy is moderate at best. Unless your rifle has a twist 1:10 or slower, I don't see it working well at long range. For general practice and shooting steel, it's great. But around 100 yards accuracy is pretty poor.

Also, I always like to shoot about 10-20 rounds of .223 through it after shooting 22lr to clear out the gas tube. Since 22lr is so dirty I recommend it.

A dedicated 22lr 1911 will cost less and will lock open the slide on the last shot.

But then again, you can train on your exact weapon with the conversion kit. It just depends on what it's for. If purely for fun, I would get a dedicated one.
