Sup gentlemen. I've been shopping AR-15s off and on for a while. Looked at complete builds vs building my own. I love the idea of designing my own and saving some dough, however I'm simply not going to make the time to research it all.

Is it really that bad to buy complete? If so, why?

Otherwise, which entry level brands would you consider? I am buying more for nostalgic and fun purposes.

TIA

Not bad at all to buy complete.

What is your price range? I'd say a good entry level is a PSA Premium that will run you ~$700

RRA and Colt also make a solid ~$800 gun

If $1000 is your budget, go BCM

If you want some customization without building from scratch, buy a complete lower then shop bravocompanyusa.com for the exact complete upper and rail you want. Slap it together and gas it up.

Go check out my thread. I was in the same boat as you but i did do research. I did take what posters here said to heart. I wanted a bunch of tacticool shite at first,Spikes lower,Aeroprecision upper.

Those two pieces would have cost me over $1000.

I'm not saying they're bad stuff but shite dude,i'm not even really sure i'm going to like these AR15's so i built my own gun for under $700. Little over including the $118 reflex site i just bought for it.
