My grandfather is 82 and cannot get around very well to go hunt anymore. He does live on and own a 250 acre plot of land in the Hammond area and it is very secluded. He has about a half acre catfish pond surrounded by woods on all 4 sides. He also has a 2 acre crawfish pond. We have shot ducks off of both sporadically my entire life and long before I was even born he would get a few now and then. What should I plant in the crawfish pond to attract more ducks to it? Is there anything I could legally do to attract the ducks to the catfish pond as well? I know he misses being able to go hunt like he used to and I am thinking this may be a good way to keep him active and enjoy the rest of his golden years.

He doesn't plant anything. It is soley used to harvest crawfish from. I was thinking rice but I do not want to hassle with actually harvesting it. I really would just want to let it grow and keep the vegetation tame and managable.

When do you plant? That looks incredibly similar to ours.

Do you buy seeds every year or can you use what grows?
