Team Glock vs the world

Here it is as promised. I'm here to strike down the Glock naysayers as reliably as my 19 cycles.
Seriously though I just don't get all the hate for Glocks. They really are the AK of the handgun world. They're ugly, but I'll be damned if they don't go bang everytime you pull the trigger.
I'm not here to discredit another firearm but I have yet to see anyother handgun that surpasses the Glock in terms or ruggedness and reliability. I know plenty of trigger pullers that trust their lives with Glocks in inhospitable environments, so I'm not buying that's it's not good enough for your typical joe shmoe.
We all know it's not the most accurate but I guarantee I can put rounds on target well past any distance I'd ever be engaging people with a handgun with.
Also Glock magazine capacity is the tits

I love the mag cap and the durability.
Don't like much else. Owning an HK, when I grip a Glock now, it feels like a 2x4.

My hands fit Glocks perfectly but I can't stand the way the M&p's feel, even with the adjustable backstraps. Damn fine weapon but that and the fact that I prefer Glocks trigger over it does it in for me personally.

I'm looking at a G17 (17 round 9mm) or a G19 (15 round)..
Wife wants a hammerless so it's one of these two. I'd rather the G17 because the grip fits my hand better, but the 19 would fit hers.
Might get both..

The only issue I had with the ergonomics was that I would rub my knuckle raw on the underside of the trigger guard when I was putting in some serious range time but that was fixed fairly easily with a little shaving
And on big bro's ones that Im not allowed to make "modifications" on I'm usually shooting with gloves on so it's a non issue.

I love my Glock. I would rather a Sig C3 1911, but for the price, I can't justify spending that kind of money right now.

There are many 'finer' pistols but there are none so rugged and reliable other than a handful of revolvers.

Blocks can't hold a candle to revolver reliability

Nor can a 1911
Flocks had their place when they were new. They changed the handgun market for the better and paved the way for other plastic guns.
I just put no stock in all those torture tests. Show me how reliable it is in the hands of somebody fighting somebody and ill be more impressed. Don't care how well it works after its been soaked in salty mud for a week.

Good revolvers I agree.
But then we go back to mag capacity and Glocks back in the fight.

For a combat weapon a glock smokes a revolver. For a self defense weapon it isn't nearly as good IMO.
If you need more than 5 or 6 shots, you are fricked anyway.
My main gripe with any semi auto for self defense is that you'll likely be fighting somebody off of you while you're shooting (Zimmerman) and a semi auto jammed into somebody's gut is only going to go off once.
Now I'm no expert on statistics of self defense shootings, but if I need my gun I see it being after somebody has tackled me or surprised me.

Never have a said they are the most reliable weapon

If they get a hand on the revolver you won't be shooting it at all.

Oh it is all the same now.
Glocks and XDs and M&Ps. Other polymers will join the group in time too. All reliable, accurate, affordable, durable. Just pick the one that feels the most comfortable.
If you want a Rolls Royce, get a high end 1911 and learn how to maintain it. It would certainly be more stylish to protect myself with a well-maintained 1911, but I'd probably take the Glock when SHTF.
Used to be a Sig guy, but sheesh these NH models of late suck. IMO, they are no longer a reasonable choice for those of us wanting to overpay for pistols. HK is the only choice there.
