Ty Segall Band v Ty Segall

Slaughterhouse is an album that I really wanted to like, but for some reason or another it just didn't move me. And I foolishly allowed this to influence my decision of whether or not to listen to the more recent Ty Segall album, Twins. Well I finally got around to listening to Twins, and not only did I love it on first listen, it has made me re-visit Slaughterhouse for further evaluation. While I do enjoy it more now, I still prefer his newer release.
And now the questions...
Why did he release Twins as Ty Segall, and not Ty Segall Band? Is all of his other stuff worth digging into? For a relatively newer artist (2008) I don't think there is anyone whose discography is more intimidating, and nightmarish at first glance (wiki). But if its worth a listen, I'll at least give it some effort.

Goodbye Bread is one of my favorite albums from 2009.
He has the craftsmen ship of The Beach Boys but plays like Nirvana.

I much preferred Twins and Hair to Slaughterhouse this year. Not to say Slaughterhouse wasn't good, but it just wasn't his strongest work.
ETA Ty Segall Band is his band that he plays live shows with. Twins was recorded by him alone in his basement, except not really but pretty much.

Alright that makes sense then. I know you have been heavily pushing this guy on this board. I'll try to find some of his previous stuff then.

Yeah, big fan of garage rock music.
FWIW, I think Thee Oh Sees has the stronger quality of albums.
