I just went through all of this. The jeweler I went to provides financing through Wells Fargo.
Wells Fargo provides financing on jewelry at 0% interest if paid in full within six months. After that, the full amount borrowed (not the amount outstanding) gets something like 25% interest.
I went this route. I will pay it off in February.
ETA - I hate diamonds. So does my fiance. We got a sapphire.
