OK so, I don't know that much about TVs. Why is the Cox Sports broadcast showing up with both CST side bars and black spaces to the side and below? It's like there's a mini screen within my screen. No other SD channel does that on my tv. Shouldn't there be just the grey bars to the side? If it's a setting I must change, why do no other channels look this way? Again, sorry for the ignorance.

That annoys me too. It's even worse when they start scrolling scores on their bottom line.

Do they not have the right cameras to broadcast? And if not, why?

Yeah, I get that part, but I have like 322 SD channels that do not look that way. I can fill the screen with the Encore movie channels, Sundance etc. and they do not look all that bad.

CST controls the aspect ratio on their non-HD broadcasts....they put their own sidebars up for advertisement purposes.

If you have cox digital cable box all you have to do is click HD zoom on your remote 2x's and it fills out the screen. Looks much better and no CST sidebars crap

Use the stretch setting on your TV if the sidebars bother you that much.

Or maybe 3x's.

I can't remember. But try it next game. I prefer watching full screen.

Maybe I was not clear. I am not posting about the sidebars. I have sidebars AND black spaces outside the sidebars AND black spaces under and above the picture.

Picture your regular sidebar SD look. Now, shrink it so that the side/grey bars do not reach the sides of the screen.

All they're advertising is "hey, in case you didn't know who sucks at broadcasting games, here's a reminder".
