Big East/Atlantic 10 Merger?

Rumors flying around that the Big East basketball only memebers are going to dissolve the conference and form new conference with the Atlantic 10.
Atlantic 21/Big East:
Georgetown
Villanova
Marquette
St Johns
Porvidence
DePaul
Seton Hall
Butler
Xavier
Dayton
VCU
Saint Louis
UMass
Richmond
Duquesne
Fordham
La Salle
Rhode Island
St Joes
St Bonaventure
George Washington
They would have to split this into 2 divisions of 11 right? I think they could totally make this work. Heck the Big East had what..19 schools last year? What do you think

Thats not entirely the same story brah!! That thread is specifically about the Big East catholic schools separating from the current BE. My link is about specifically the A10/BE merging to form a 21 memeber conference.

If you're going to have a super conference and break it into two 10+ team entities, then why the frick have the superconference in the first place and not just have the two smaller conferences play a "title" game at the end of the year?

I think it makes sense. The other conferences are already doing it, now that we are on our way to four 16 team superconferences, this would give a new A21/BE a better argument for equal consideration for selection to the NCAA tourney. It would also give them security heading into the future. They could get a nice deal that would pay nicely, remember, they wouldnt have to fund football.
