Not a bad question.
With the recent immediate success of QB's coming out of college, I think the Favre/Rodgers way is gonna be unpopular for a while. No team wants to draft a guy high and pay him first round money to ride the bench, and guys like Luck and RGIII have shown its possible to come in and have good success as a rookie.
I dont think we even worry about this for another 3-4 seasons, but it will be interesting to see what direction the Saints ultimately go in.

The rookie wage gives away the pressure to play them early. You can stash away a QB of the future for up to 5 years for about 20 mil if its a top ten player
