Looking at the list of Clemson coaches in the 20th and 21st centuries who were there for more than 1 season, there appears to be 4 coaches whose records were significantly worse than West's. Well Howard did more for Clemson than the record. He stopped Big Thursday which was playing the Clemson/SC game every year in Columbia and never in Clemson. But yes he was mediocre overall.

West took a good program and turned it bad and also the attendances at some of the 90's games were horrible. Some of them would dip down to the low 60,000's. He did not put people in the seats.

Ingram and Parker were bad too
