There's songs like that coming out of Nashville today. They don't sound exactly the same but it's the same message. Do you have to be poor and do cocaine to be real country fan? I'm not getting it other than music today is different just like it has changed over the years.

Change is not always a good thing. Country music no longer has an authentic feel to it. Music is not something you can talk about and only use tangibles, the most important part of music are the intangibles.

No, the songs today are laundry list look how country I am music. There is absolutely no song writing talent. You can't compare Merle Haggard's songs to Justin Moore's in terms of content or subject.
