And he can't do this if the players are challenging him on every call. He has to establish that it is his job to call the game and theirs to respect his calls. Not agree with them, but respect them.

Seriously? A player challenges you on every call; you warn them, give them a technical, or eject them. There are rules in place that allow the referees to handle these situations. But, being overly emotional and making a call in a player's face does nothing to resolve the issue.

Has to? I think it is pretty well established in the rule book that the refs call the game. Referees have the ability to give technicals and to eject players. This authority will be respected because they players have no choice. Acting like a jerk when you make a call does nothing to establish more authority or respect. It is already there, in the rules.

why not? just keep making the calls
