Good taste.

When I first heard Curtis Mayfield I wasn't ready for it, I just didn't like it. That kind of music has grown on me though, I have to admit that the influence from Jim James (that's the singer from My Morning Jacket) has been a big reason I ventured in that direction.

There's a lot of great music from the Curtis Mayfield era - Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, Sly and the Family Stone, Otis Redding....the list goes on. If all someone knows of Marvin Gaye is Sexual Healing, they're missing a lot of great music.

If you like the late 60s - early 70s soul sound, sometime you should listen to Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings - she's fantastic, and a total throwback.
