this is exactly what im talking about. no one is looking at the defense objectively. they did well. last game, they got completely fricked over by both offense and special teams.

not to mention they put the first points on the board... and then the offense finally decides to put one in the endzone but we were trailing 35-13 at the time. So we score, its 35-20. Then the defense gets another turnover, the offense does its job and the lead is cut to 35-27. That was as good as it got the whole game...

we're just not playing well as a team right now. Just hope we can close out this year with a three game win streak. I hope like hell we stop this trend where we split the season series with the Bucs. That needs to end on Sunday, I'll be over at the Dome yelling like mad

Edit: and the defense will continue to get the brunt of blame no matter what. They did have that terrible start so that is what most fans(casual fans) will come on here and bitch about.

Half of these assholes let ESPN think for them and get caught up in statistics game... its such a lazy way to view things.

Players fault:

If Williams blitzed to hide the players insufficiencies as suggested, then Spags is a bad DC for just letting bad players play in a bad scheme. No matter what he's trying to do. He should know the players are bad and work around it.

Offenses fault:

Our offense has been in a rut the past few weeks. But what's the excuse for Jamal Charles, RGIII, Carolina, Turner and every other running back and QB slashing this defense all year? In the last game I will say Manning had a really good game and made some great passes that weren't on the DBs. But we dropped a bunch of balls and still missed a lot of tackles and couldn't get off the field. 45 points is inexcusable!

Refs fault:

C'mon man.

Goddell's fault:

I'll actually buy this a little. No Payton to help Spags and direct everyone is probably not helping Spags or the players.

I'm not totally biased against Spags and I hope it gets fixed and yes, we need some 'real' talent upgrades on defense. And there has been some improvement, but we aren't good. We give up too many yards, too many points, can't tackle, can't pressure the QB, can't cover and can't take advantage of turnover opportunities to save our lives. It's a bad defense! Plain and simple.
