It's lopsided because the royals aren't a contender. Why trade for a guy on the wrong side of 30? Doesn't make sense.

I know he's been good but this is a move a contender would make. Trade the young guy for a veteran pitcher to make a run. KCs window isn't ready to be open yet.

Only thing I can think of is KC doesn't see Myers hitting like he has at a MLB level....

I agree, this a very stupid trade for KC, unless they know something we don't. They aren't a high power hitting team like Toronto, where a pitcher like Shields would really help. Shields also is not a TORP, so you gave up your best hitting prospect for a #2 pitcher.

This would be a good trade for a team like Texas. It just does not make sense for a team like KC.

The Royals organization thinks they are a contender for whatever reason. Hosmer and Moustakas should definitely take a step forward, but I really do not see them passing Detroit. I was just trying to defend because they are going for it.
