No. Actually, MNC are won by winning a popularity contest and a corrupt polling system. The games are not played on the field. It's simply opinion and will always be horseshite until there is a playoff system.

And you think lobbying and corrupt polling wont happen when there are only 4 teams invited to the playoff. Hell this year, Florida may have gotten left out just because they are instructed "to put a strong emphasis on winning a conference."

So you prefer a system where a team only needs to get hot for a few weeks as opposed to a system that requires its champion to play well throughout?

Well, a system that would allow a team to win all their games and not have a championship to show for it, is flawed and the only system like it in sports.

yes, the team would have to play well all season to get into the top 8 and if they get hot so be it. a system that allows a team to go 13-0 and finish third, is the most ridiculous thing in sports.

Doesn't the NFL system work they way?

(I remember the NY Giants getting hot)

Why isn't everyone raising hell about NY winning the super bowl? uh, yeah! the system is better!

I think Vood is right

"After reading those comments it sounds like another Landon Collins situation for the Tigers. The kid doesn't want to admit he is going to Bama until he has to so it lessens the negativity toward him and his family.

I feel like if he was going to LSU he would have already said it. "

Just don't get a good feeling about this and with the lineage he has with his family at LSU the backlash he would get announcing Bama a couple of months before signing period, his family would definitely hear it. Yes recruits say strange things, but his comments truly speak for themselves. I really don't want him to go out of state and hate the fact that it would be gumpville as the choice but this is truly starting to look like a Collins repeat of him holding up Bama gloves on national tv and embarrassing us once again as a top recruit leaving Louisiana going to Bama. Hope it is not so and it will not detract from who we have signed, but this just is starting to smell bad.

Like i said in another thread a couple of weeks ago,Beckwith is going to Bama. And take this for what its worth, it comes from pretty good Source. Like people very close to him. Now i hope he changes his mind. But as of now, im not counting on him to be a Tiger.

This statement assumes two things that may not be true. A) That he goes to Bama, B) that he's the best player in the state.
