I would say I enjoy/love them equally but I catch myself going back to Clerks II more often. I guess because I am in my early 30s and it just resonates well right now.

Clerks 2 was funny and had pretty much nothing to do with Clerks, except for a few of the same characters.

Pillow pants was not funny. Dante was whiny and annoying except this time instead of crying about some average looking Jersey broad he's got freaking Rosario Dawson pining after him. Randall felt forced. Plus the ABC dance scene was lazy writing. Write an actual movie don't just put in filler.

Personally I love both movies, but now that I am older I tend to like clerks II more. Watch it and decide for yourself.

Love both of these movies. Clerks seemed to have more dialogue. Clerks II had more stuff going on.
Clerks will always hold a special place in my movie going experiences.

I would say as a movie, Clerks II is better. This is mainly due to having money to pay real actors for all the side characters.
the writing is better for Clerks 1 though.

yea but that's only due to the writing.
the majority of people playing the side characters in Clerks 1 are just flat out terrible actors. (his wife in Clerks 2 and J&SB is pretty bad though)
I'm not saying I don't like the movie. I'm a total sucker for Kevin Smith and own all his movies. Yes even Jersey Girl. Hell, I'd probably even buy that extended edition he always jokes about making.
