Low grain, small diameter bullets will be more adversely affected by limbs, branches, twigs than a large grain, large diameter bullet. I use the .270/7mag on highlines and the .444 Marlin for up close thick cover hunting.

Numerous test have shown that the size of the bullet and velocity make no difference in brush busting. In fact, if anything, the bigger and slower it is, the more it is affected. In one test the 45/70 fared the worst of anything, including things like the .243.
