At 185 yards the slightest deflection angle could put your shot off by as much as a foot. At that range just because you cant see a branch in your scope doesn't mean that your bullet wont hit one as your crossairs and bullet path dont actually converge until they reach the target.

Eta: Unless you are shooting round nose bullets. Those will handle the obstruction with little problem.
