Yeah, dumbass me should have read through the entire post.

I used to teach at a private prep academy, where every kid had a laptop. We had a filter on the school network to keep them from surfing porn, watching youtube, using cheating websites, downloading meth cookbooks, you name it. Initially, the really smart ones used proxies to get around the filter. Several of the proxies have a string of urls: a-proxy, b-proxy, etc., and they will mix up the domain endings, spellings, etc., to trick the filters and make it where it's impossible to block an entire domain with an asterisk function, like www.examplewebsite.com/*.

Try this: reset your IP by disconnecting your modem completely. Do the same with your wifi router if you're using one. Unplug everything and let it sit for a minute. With you computer disconnected from the internet, wipe your entire browser history, cache, and cookies, there are several freeware programs that will do this for you. Refresh the router connection on the computer side, too.

Back to modem & router: plug in the power first, wait for the ok light to quit blinking, then connect your internet cable. Wait for it to register and the light to quit blinking. Then, continue this throughout. all the way back to the computer. Once all that's done, you can then try to get in again using a proxy, but if I have to guess, they've probably blocked the entire thing on their end, so unless your proxy tells them you're in China or something, you are going to have trouble. Just a thought, but you might try running a script blocker, too.

The simplest thing is to find another copy of the media somewhere or give up on all this. If the rights holder gets a hard-on for people using his stuff, it's not going to be fun for you. We had FBI agents come to that school I was at on two separate occasions. Kids were using Limewire and the agents and their snoops knew exactly what part of the building the kids were in.
