I agree. I think lawyering up would show all parties involved that enough is enough.

raising a douche has consequences. Hopefully the parents don't try to escalate it. how old are the kids?

Our policy is fighting equals expulsion. ZERO tolerance. You take a swing you're out. Yes, that includes defending yourself. A person can defend themselves without hitting back.

I don't have a ton of positive things to say about my dad, but he was able to solve my bullying problem. (This was 6th - 7th grade ish...) He told me to first of all, take my textbook for my next class out of my backpack, and carry it in my hand at all times. He said to wipe the slate clean for the bully, and give him three strikes. On the first strike, tell the nearest teacher about it, that I didn't like it and didn't want to get suspended for fighting. On strike two, bypass the teacher and go to the principal's office with the same message. On strike three, wallop that stupid mother fricker upside the head with that textbook I'd been carrying in my hand. My dad even put on a football helmet and let me hit him as hard as I could with the book for practice. The bully got to strike three and I walloped that mother fricker with a social studies book, and never had to frick with him again. I was not suspended.

I would say your Dad did more for you than "solve that problem". What he taught you has carried over into many other areas for you, I would bet. That's a good Dad.

get a lawyer, zero tolerance with prior complaints could get some people "paying" attention.

teach the kid to fight/ stand up for himself. Arm him with jokes to dispel conflicts to prevent fights. Teach him how to create and maintain alliances with larger kids to protect him. Basically, get the kid to man up and stand up for himself while teaching him how to win.

If it's not a hate crime because he has the ghey or is the wrong color there is probably more to the story. Generally speaking decent kids with personalities don't just get slapped around. Sometimes they ask for it. Still no excuse to sneak someone. The school has to protect your kid. Sue if they are not doing enough.

Go to the school board, sue for medical costs, do al of the above. And teach him to stand up for himself in case none of it works to stop the hazing. They are 12, aside from the possible expulsion he needs to tie one up for awhile, I doubt he gets too hurt even if he loses. He will never have to worry about em again if he goes all crazy eyes and lands a punch.

I think about this all the time. I would have a parent teacher conference with the other kid and his parents in attendance. At that conference I would attempt to broker a peace between the parties. Then at the end, explain to the kid that if he hurts my child again, I am not going to come after him but I am going to go to his house and beat the shite out of his father, maintaining eye contact with all parties.
