I think Long had someone. Peterson or Patterson. Thought he had him locked up. Then when that guy tried to leave current job, he was given something he could not turn down. Now Long could be made to look stupid. It happens.

This is by far the most believable rumor reported by a hog fan on this board
i told you hog fans you werent taking home the prettiest girl at the bar like you thought you were. in your drunken state, you simply overvalued yourselves. now go pick up tuberville or pelini and try to tell everyone they were the #1 target this whole time
