Well I am not going out of my way to doubt you because deep down I have the same gut feeling. I am just pointing out, as you know, it's difficult for this to be accepted at face value. Also "turned down" might not necessarily mean an official offer was extended. Maybe it was just preliminary talks that didn't get anywhere. I guess I should have had this clarified.
