LSU missed out on RC Slocum when they hired Les Miles.

I don't see RC getting any play on the coaches board. Slocum is a winner, 123–47–2 lifetime record. And he's not even 70 years old yet.

The only reason he even got a token interview was because George HW Bush called our AD and reccomended him for the job.

That was not a miss. I was at the Cap 1 bowl when Miles was rumored. Solid hire.

100 of RC's wins came against the likes of USL, Tulsa, Houston, SMU, TCU, Rice and Baylor in the 90's.

I think he won maybe 2 bowl games too....

Surely LSU didn't interview him back then?

technically he never did. He is currently a special advisor to the A&M president.

he didn't stop coaching b/c he wanted to though.

he was canned.

its too bad since he may have been able to turn it around as he had just made Kevin Sumlin his OC a few games into his last year. Once he did that the offense looked a ton better. His defense sucked that year but considering that was his forte I think he may have been able to build it back up.

A few more years of him sure as hell would have been better than the crap we got with fat Fran.
