I Would used the Self-Sealing Washers if i was in a rush to fix my boat.



When you have time pick up some HTS-2000 Aluminum Sticks that you heat up with a Mapp Gas Torch.

Call the nearest welding shop and ask what they'd charge to weld over a hole in aluminum whatever size the hole is.

Drill it, put bolt with washers on both sides of transom, coat with 5200, tighten nut, let it cure for 24 and you're done.

You can weld a patch, but if the welder gets the metal too hot, your problems will expand. A guys hit on of our pontoons with the mudboat prop and I fixed it like above with a 3"x3" drilled patch. This was the season after Katrina, its still holding.
